PARENTAL RIGHTS IN EDUCATION

Family is a key factor to a students’ success not only in elementary and secondary education, but beyond the classroom. It is essential parents of students are informed and empowered to make decision(s) for their child’s education that not do not conflict with their faith, religion or creed. There is no excuse than 100% transparency by the ELCO School District. Since Rachel was elected in 2021, she has prioritized transparency and put forth policies empowering parental rights.

CURRICULUM TRANSPRANCY

Every parent & custodian who chooses to enroll their child at a campus in the ELCO School District has the right to know what is being taught in the classroom. Since her first day of taking office, Rachel has worked to empower parents, inform the public and protect children from curriculum that does not share ELCO School District values.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Public schools should not be exempt from balancing a budget. ELCO School District residents is not immune to the effects of the economy, and it is imperative school board directors keep in mind the rising costs for individuals & families when making financial decisions. All research and study should be given prior to raising taxes. As a mother, Rachel knows first-hand the burdens the rising costs of living puts on a family. She will continue to work hard for taxpayers and ensure proper accounting practices are implemented.

PROTECTING ATHLETIC INTEGRITY

Every biological female student has the right to compete against her own gender. Whether on the track, field or court biological males should compete against their own gender. Preserving a fair playing field for both genders help students gain skills, confidence and pride in their achievements. Rachel has created policies to ensure the rights of student athletes are not infringed.
